Black-seeded Simpson Lettuce, Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 27, 2018 |
I sowed lettuce seeds in September, but the weather was so hot and dry that they barely grew. But now with rain, I am more hopeful of picking my own lettuce for my salads. I am growing them in large plastic tubs to make it easier to cover them for protection from frost.
Have a blessed day!

ReplyDelete...I have to be careful of what I wish for. After our host, dry summer, it rains almost every day.

I wonder if I could grow lettuce inside this winter. I miss having fresh lettuce for my salads, but it gets cold and snowy where I live.
ReplyDeleteOh, there's nothing better than fresh lettuce. One time in the Fall...I picked some thinking they were greens and cooked them. hahaha! Tasted pretty good too! lol
ReplyDeleteIt looks promising!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I could grow them inside in front of a south window. It is worth trying I think.
ReplyDeleteSummer here was quite dry too. Fall seems to have helped things recover.
ReplyDeleteNothing like growing your own greens. They are so good! Thanks for linking up today!
ReplyDeleteOooo, that looks tasty! I started some lettuce in the sunroom the other day. I'm looking forward to seeing the seeds sprout. Usually, I start them in a coldframe outside, but I wanted to try the sunroom so I won't have to go out into the cold to get my salad fixings. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that my neighbor's lettuce was popping up. I should get busy and see what seeds I have!
