Turtles at the Lake, October 21, 2022

Sky Watch Friday and Saturday's Critters

Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, October 20, 2022
It was a beautiful sunny day Thursday, but cool enough that we had to wear our jackets to walk along the shore of Pickwick Lake.

Did you notice the log at the edge of the water? Turtles were enjoying the sunshine!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, October 2022

The northeast corner of Mississippi, USA, zone 7b
September was hot and dry; October is cooler and was very dry until it rained on Wednesday.

My Asters ignored the dry conditions and have been (and still are) blooming profusely.

County Line Mural, October 10, 2022

Baldwyn, Mississippi, USA, September 24, 2022
Baldwyn is a small town that sits on the line between Prentiss County and Lee County. I think this mural was painted for the County Line Music Festival.

I cannot read the signature.

I was hoping to get a photo of this Cardinal taking a bath, but it suddenly flew away. I thought it had spotted me, but that wasn't what scared it away.

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 6, 2022
I am especially thankful today for roadside produce stands. Look what I found this morning - large, speckled butterbeans! Aren't they beautiful? And they will be delicious when we eat them for supper tonight.
