There were eight Cormorants in this tree. If they were playing King of the Hill, here's the winner at the top!

Tennessee River

Thankful Thursday and Little Things Thursday

Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, October 17, 2023
I am thankful that we live within easy driving distance of the Tennessee River. There are always interesting things to see, and we especially enjoy watching the river traffic.

This is Ingram Barge Company's "Evey T" exiting the Lock at Pickwick Dam going downstream towards Kentucky Lake. I could not tell for sure, but I think its 15 barges are loaded with either sand or gravel.
(3 barges across and 5 barges long)

Have a Blessed Day!

Bicycle Mural

New Albany Mississippi, USA, October 16, 2023
Artist Katie Sappington painted this mural on the side of the Tallahatchie Gourmet to draw attention to the nearby Tanglefoot Trail.

It is a popular walking, hiking, and bicycling trail that was created by paving over an abandoned railroad track. And just down the street at the library you can borrow a bicycle for the day!

Have a great day!

Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, October 2023

The northeast corner of Mississippi, USA zone 7b

October has been very dry with much cooler temperatures than September, but we still have a few blooms.

Cypress vine

Turk's Cap

Wax Begonia in a pot on the front porch.

This purple Aster was a gift from a friend several years ago.

I think this wildflower is the Hairy White Oldfield Aster.

Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!
