R is for Raptors - birds that kill and eat small mammals, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, and other birds
Hawk, Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, October 10, 2018 |
1. a hooked beak with rough edges
2. strong legs and feet with sharp, curved claws
3. keen eyesight
Just a few examples of Raptors are Hawks, Eagles, Owls, and Ospreys. But this one looks so cute, it is hard to believe it is a fierce hunter and killer!
Have a wonderful day!

They are fascinating creatures, for sure. I'm always thrilled to see one while traveling along highways, roadways, and hiking paths. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteJust this morning we saw a hawk swoop down and catch something in my vegetable garden. My husband grabbed the binoculars (which sits on the counter always ready) and said it had caught a mouse. He offered to let me look at the closeup view so I could watch it getting eaten. (UGH!) I declined to watch.
