These two injured Red-tailed Hawks live in a large cage at Pickwick Landing State Park because they cannot survive in the wild.

The male was injured when he flew into a barbed wire fence. The female was struck by a car.

I hope you are having a good week!

Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day

The northeast corner of Mississippi, USA zone 7b

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, January 14, 2023
My Hellebores began to form buds in mid-December. The weather forecast was for much colder weather (5°F) near Christmas, so I covered them with hay. They survived, but the blooms are smaller than normal.
