Willy Nilly Friday 5, Sky Watch Friday, Floral Friday Fotos,
and on Saturday, Saturday's Critters, and I'd Rather B Birdin'

1. Pickwick Lake (Sky Watch Friday)
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, October 1, 2018
We enjoyed beautiful weather when we met friends at the Pickwick Inn Restaurant for lunch on Monday. We saw Canada Geese, American Coots, Mallard Ducks, and one lone Pied-billed Grebe on the lake. When we crossed the dam and drove along the Tennessee River after lunch, there were Gulls, Herons, and Cormorants. A fun day!

2. River Traffic
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, October 1, 2018
After we drove across the bridge to the other side of the lake, we saw the 'Bobby Thompson' guiding its barges into the lock at Pickwick Dam. Its load is four barges long and three across: twelve barges going down the Tennessee River towards the Ohio River.

It is times like these that I am thankful that my camera has a zoom lens!

3. Elephant Ears (Floral Friday Fotos)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, September 25, 2018
Elephant Ears, Colocasia, are tropical plants grown here in the United States for the beauty of their wonderful large-leafed foliage, but they do bloom, too!

.

4. Sulphur Butterfly (Saturday's Critters)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 3, 2018
No matter how many descriptions I read, or how many photos I see, I still cannot tell if this is a Clouded Sulphur Butterfly, Colias philodice, or a Cloudless Sulphur Butterfly, Phoebis sennae. Whichever it is, it is a beauty!

5. In Flight (I'd Rather B Birdin')
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, October 1, 2018
Great Blue Herons!
