Willy Nilly Friday 5, Weekend Reflections, Orange You Glad It's Friday,
and on Saturday, Saturday's Critters, and I'd Rather B Birdin'

1. Moth (Orange You Glad It's Friday)
Cecropia Silk Moth on a very dirty window with a few odd reflections! (Don't know what that reflection is sticking up next to its head). These moths are the largest of the native North American moths. Their wingspans may reach 6 inches (15cm), but this one was only about 2/3 of that size.

2. Mushrooms
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 7, 2018
The rain is bringing up the mushrooms!

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 8, 2018
The same mushrooms the next day.

3. Heron (Weekend Reflections)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 10, 2018
I think the Great Blue Heron, Ardea herodias, is glad we have had enough rain to bring the water level up again. September was so dry that the pond was getting seriously low at the shallow end where he does most of his fishing.

4. Anole (Saturday's Critters)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 11, 2018
A Green Anole, Anolis carolinensis, on the geraniums on my front porch. I will have to be watchful for it may try to hitch a ride into the house when I move my plants inside this weekend.

Though Green Anoles are not true chameleons, they can change from green to brown.

5. Phoebe (I'd Rather B Birdin')
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 9, 2018
Eastern Phoebes, Sayornis phoebe, are easily identified by their call (phee-be, phee-be), and by their habit of wagging their tails up and down when perched. They are migratory flycatchers whose range includes most of eastern North America.

Have a wonderful day!
