Mural: Tupelo, October 8, 2018

Monday Mural, Through My Lens, and Our World Tuesday

Greetings from Tupelo, Mississippi!
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, October 7, 2018
The latest mural in Tupelo was painted by Kit Stafford and her daughter, Reid Caldwell. The scenes in each letter depict a part of Tupelo's history.

Some scenes I recognize. On the others, I am guessing their meaning.
In the T is the Farmer's Market
In the U is the Lee County Courthouse built in 1904
In the P is a fish representing the National Fish Hatchery established in 1901
In the E is the Elvis Presley birthplace
In the L is a guitar for Mississippi's rich musical heritage
In the O is the Frisco Railroad

It is painted in 'postcard style' with a depiction of Main Street as the background. It might not be completely finished yet, as some of the scaffolding is still there, rolled over to the side.

Have a wonderful week!
