1. Pickwick Lake (Sky Watch Friday)
Pickwick Lake, Tennessee, USA, September 2, 2019
We had beautiful blue skies for the Labor Day holiday weekend. In the middle left is the highway bridge over Pickwick Dam that created this lake on the Tennessee River. I made these photos from the picnic area on the south side of the lake.

Those are beautiful and expensive lake-side homes, but I would be afraid a tornado would come and blow me right off the cliff!

2. Soft Drinks (Signs, Signs)

I think this Coca-Cola sign is from the 1960's, and the 7-up sign (below) is from the 1970's.

3. Good Food!
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, August 31, 2019
End of summer fruits - Scuppernongs - a variety of grapes native to the southeastern United States. They are delicious eaten fresh or made into jelly. I bought these at the Tupelo Farmers Market last Saturday.

4. Sheep (Saturday's Critters)

    Enjoyed the soft drink signs. The 7 Up sign looks like a relic of the late 60's or even early 70's. Beautiful bird. I ate scuppernongs once when I was in Asheville, NC in September - different texture than the Northern grapes I am used to. Have a wonderful week!

    I love yoiur sheep! Coca Cola came to Finland in 1952 when there were the Summer Olympics in Helsinki .) I prefer Seven up.

    Never heard of scuppernongs. That's interesting. I love the old Coke sign. Those lake homes look huge, and 3-4 stories. Wow!
