Killdeer, September 19, 2019

ABC Wednesday and I'd Rather B Birdin'
K is for Killdeer - an American Plover that gets its name from its loud, shrill kill-deer call.

Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, September 19, 2019
Killdeer, Charadrius vociferus, are migratory birds that range from Canada to the northern part of South America.

Hope you are having a wonderful week!

  1. We have them here as well, at least in the warm weather. I've seen them do their little broken wing trick.

  8. Before I ever saw a killdeer, I assumed it was some sort of large raptor!
