Fence with Dove, August 27, 2015

Mourning Dove, Lee County Mississippi, USA, August 21, 2015

You know how I like my fences - with birds on them!

I love the way the Mourning Dove ruffles up its feathers when it is preening.

Mourning Dove, Zenaida macroura, aka Turtle Dove

Here it is at the base of the fence.

Have a Wonderful Day!

  4. You're a woman after my own heart - birds and wild flowers! Much better photos of a heron than mine, I must say. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  7. Love the photos with his feathers fluffed. You can see so much more detail. We have Inca doves here, in addition to mourning doves. Their feathers are so distinct they almost look like fish scales!
