I rescued this Butterfly Milkweed from the side of the road in June just minutes ahead of the Highway Department mowing machines I am so pleased to see it blooming again.
Insects have been munching on my Coneflowers.
I was late planting the Sunflower seeds, but they are coming along beautifully.
Butterfly Bush, Buddleia
Phlox
I sowed a packet of Zinnia seeds, mixed colors. I think the pink ones are the prettiest, but I have yellow ones and white ones, too.

pretty flowers, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty flowers but I think my favorite is the unopen sunflower. It's just waiting to burst through with gold.
ReplyDeleteIt really is hard to beat the beauty of a zinnia.
ReplyDeleteI love all your blooms. My summer phlox has given up the ghost for the moment but I'm hoping it will be back in the fall. Your butterfly weed is lovely. Thank goodness you were able to save it.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE the photo of the sunflower, like it's playing peek-a-boo.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. My zinnias are coming in waves of colors. I love your butterfly weed photo.
ReplyDeleteGood you are for saving Asclepias from the Highway marauders! I love the photo of the half-open Sunflower! Happy GBBD!
ReplyDeleteI took in my milkweeds last winter and now they are blooming, they look just like yours. Your swallowtail butterfly looks just like the ones in my garden, though I suppose they are the eastern race. I wistfully enjoy your Phlox because the heat and drought seem to have been too much for mine. Lovely zinnias.
ReplyDeleteLook at your beautiful blooms and yea for the rescued butterfly weed......and it is rewarding you too!
ReplyDeleteThe milkweed is such a wonderful colour, I hope it brings the butterflies in!
ReplyDeleteHappy GBBD! I love Butterfly Weed. It's finally really thriving in my sunny garden after taking several years to get established. That's a beautiful photo of the Tiger Swallowtail!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo of the buddleia with the butterfly, and I also think pink zinnias are the prettiest – even though I don’t have any myself, but next year I will!
ReplyDeleteLove the swallowtail! Happy bloom day!
