The Booneville, MS Public Library was giving away free seed packets. Free seeds! - They didn't have to ask me twice. This mixture contains seeds for sunflowers, lupines, zinnias, coneflowers, California poppies, butterfly weed, black-eyed Susan, bergamot, blue tansy, white sweet alyssum, blue flax, scarlet flax, Indian blanket flower, baby's breath, marigold, asters, cosmos, coreopsis, and larkspur. Enough seeds to create a small wildflower garden!
The back of the seed packet explains how important it is to provide habitat for birds, bees, and butterflies: "Every third bite of food we eat is due to pollinators."
Happy Wildflower Wednesday!

ReplyDeleteWildflower Wednesday. That's a good one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing for the library to do. Pollinators need all the help they can get and it's good to see libraries lending a hand.
ReplyDeleteGrowing lots of flowers for the pollinators is important, I hope the seeds grow well for you. I'll be looking forward to your report.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea - can't see a downside to this.

That's an awesome mix. Wouldn't have to ask me twice, either! ☺
