I am thankful for bird sanctuaries where injured birds are cared for!

This is Ollie, an Eastern Screech Owl who lives at a bird sanctuary. He was injured when he was hit by a car. Eastern Screech Owls,
Megascops asio, have two color variations, reddish brown (like Ollie) or gray. They hunt at night, catching small animals to eat, and sleep in the daytime. Their natural nesting places are tree cavities, but they easily adapt to nest boxes.
Have a wonderful day!

Love Ollie, I do!!!
ReplyDeletePerhaps they will be able to use him for captive breeding, to say nothing of the educational value for the visiting public.

ReplyDeleteI've been to three wildlife rescues sanctuaries - one on Sanibel Island, FL, one near Punta Gorda, FL and one near St Petersburg, FL. So thankful they exist; they also do a great job of educating visitors.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty! I hope he recovers soon.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
