Indigo Buntings are common birds in the eastern half of the United States and southeastern Canada. You can attract them to your yard by offering a variety of seeds. They also eat insects.

Here in the United States we celebrate our Independence Day tomorrow, July 4th. Since the holiday falls on Sunday this year, many companies give their employees Monday off from work, so we have a nice three-day weekend.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Hello Lea,
Happy 4th of July weekend! Pretty capture of the dragonfly. The Indigo Bunting is beautiful, I love their blue color. The Japanese Beetles are terrible for the plants. Your flowers and flag photo is pretty. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend!

  13. What a great range of animals - its mid-winter here so insects are a bit thin on the ground nr me. I find it hard to believe that the bunting is common!

Hope all is well - Stewart M - Melbourne
