I am always amazed to see web-footed birds up in a tree! I think these are juvenile Double-crested Cormorants, Phalacrocorax auritus, in a tree near the Tennessee River.
What a cool shot of the Cormorants, I like their pose. They may have nest nearby in the trees. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend!
I don't know how they hang on! I am having problems on Blogger where my blog opens with a strange code on people's reading list. I am still around though. http://occasionaltoronto.blogspot.com/

ReplyDeleteDouble-crested Cormorants nest in trees too.
ReplyDeleteI couldn’t believe the first time I saw those cormorants in trees. It just didn’t seem right somehow. Great photo, Lea.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful capture of the cormorants.

They are odd looking birds aren't they! Looks like they are comfortable up in a tree! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteNice. Almost like one is the reflection of the other.

At first, I missed the one lower on the branch...what an awesome moment in time.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking time to share your birds with us at IRBB this weekend.
