Persimmons, October 22, 2019

ABC Wednesday and Our World Tuesday
P is for Persimmons - The edible fruit from several species of trees in the genus Diospyros.

Colbert County, Alabama, USA, October 18, 2019
American Persimmons, Diospyros virginiana, are harvested in the Autumn after the first frost. They can be eaten raw or cooked. But don't try to eat them early; they need the chill to sweeten them up!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Ours are huge. When are they ready to eat? Those you posted I believe are ready when they drop off, about now I should think.
