3. What country folk do...
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, July 7, 2017
We shell peas! Last Friday I bought a bushel of purple-hull peas. Shelling them was an all-day job, but now I have plenty of peas in my freezer. When we eat them this Winter, they will taste of this Summer's sunshine!

And to go with the Purple-hull Peas - Purple Okra! Very pretty, but Purple Okra turns green like regular okra when it is cooked.

5. Solar Power (Sky Watch Friday)
McNairy County, Tennessee, USA, July 10, 2017
Driving along in southwestern Tennessee, I was seeing lots of corn fields, and then suddenly there were acres and acres of solar panels for generating electricity!

I hope you are having a beautiful day!

  10. I love street art (such as the Elvis guitars). Purple hull peas remind me of gardening when I lived in Arkansas - they do like the heat. We used to grow the purple okra as ornamentals (beautiful flowers). You brought back some memories. Mississippi is one of four states I have never visited and it does deserve a visit!
