Turtle and Kingfisher, June 10, 2017

Saturday's Critters, Camera Critters, and I'd Rather B Birdin'

Is this turtle smiling, or is it my imagination?

I'd Rather B Birdin'

Female Belted Kingfisher, Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, May 31, 2017
I was delighted to see this Kingfisher even though the bright late afternoon sunlight was not the best lighting for photography. I am sure Kingfishers get tired of hearing 'bad hair day' but...

...don't they look strange when they lay their crest feathers down flat against their heads!

Have a wonderful week-end!

  4. What kind of turtle is that? I saw one at a lake near here not too long ago.

    1. Judging by the red streak on its head, I am guessing it is a Red-eared Slider Turtle, but I could be wrong.
Thanks for your visit and comment!

  10. If I had seen the second photo of the Kingfisher first, I would never in a million years guessed it was a kingfisher...
