Mockingbird and Butterfly, May 25, 2017

Good Fences and Thankful Thursday

Good Fences Around The World
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, April 27, 2017
This fence, down an embankment on a busy highway, is the only one I have ever seen with concrete fence posts.

Northern Mockingbird

Mockingbirds display the white feathers on their wings and tail when they fly (an identifying characteristic).

And for Thankful Thursday

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, May 15, 2017
I am thankful for butterflies that, though tattered and torn, continue on, enjoying life every day.

They encourage me to greet each new day with joy and thanksgiving!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Lovely post, Lea. I have seen one fence with concrete posts in about the same condition as the one you show. Interesting huh.

  7. Loved that mockingbird. When daughters were young we had one that sat on the chimney and sang all night. Saw butterflies in a strange place today - at the minor league baseball game we attended.

  11. The bird sure adds a soft touch to the hard concrete post. Love your butterfly shots, too.

  12. Spectacular butterfly pictures! Looks like the fence posts will outlast the fence by ... maybe a century!
