Turtles and Swallows, May 13, 2017

Saturday's Critters, Camera Critters, and I'd Rather B Birdin'

Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, May 1, 2017
Turtles, turtles, and more turtles! How many do you see? A baker's dozen?

Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, April 16, 2017
Northern Rough-winged Swallows, Stelgidopteryx serripennis, are cavity-nesting birds of the United States and parts of southern Canada. Their winter range extends into Mexico and the Central American countries. Flying insects are their primary food source; they catch them in flight.

Have a wonderful week-end!

  7. Those turtles are just popping up their heads everywhere -- kind of reminded me of a children's puzzle -- how many turtles can you find? (I checked and agree with your count ;>)..... Love the swallows too.

  8. Sunning yourself on the rock most of the day -- turtles know how to live the life, don't they?

  9. I was going to ask how many you saw...I got a baker's dozen, but wasn't quite sure if I was right or not. I love shots with lots of turtles to count.

  12. It's been a few years since I've seen this species of swallow. AND to see the turtles, another plus. But in my book...it's the water. It's so dry here without rain that all the ponds are dried up.

Thanks so much for sharing this with us at I'd Rather B Birdin' this weekend...and hope you have a joyous week ahead!
