Birds in a Tree, January 23, 2016

Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, January 9, 2016
This small tree in a shopping center parking lot was full of birds, chirp, chirp, chirping! Most people were walking by without paying the slightest bit of attention. I guess they wondered why the crazy lady ran to her car to get her camera!

Some kind of Sparrow, maybe?

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, January 15, 2016

And visiting my bird feeders: Goldfinches!

The winter storm went by just a few miles north and west of us. The snow here was mixed with rain, so it quickly melted. I hope all of you in the storm's path are safe and warm.

Have a great week-end!

  1. Hello Lea, cute shots of the Sparrows. They look like the House Sparrows. The Goldfinches are pretty and one of my favorites. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!

  2. We have lots of the goldfinches in our feeders this morning! It's cold and windy all the way down to Florida! (no snow here though) Happy Saturday!

  6. Neat shots of the tree sparrows, and Goldfinch. It's a lovely bird, and I wish I could see it in my garden.

  7. When I first started taking a lot of pictures I was wondering what people thought of me, taking pictures of a sign, a building, a puddle of water...etc. Now, I am getting very comfortable and don't give a heck what they think. I am the one with the beautiful pictures. They do without.

  8. Oh I do the very same...so for now we know for sure there are TWO crazy ol' ladies in this world of birding.

Love the finches too. So bright and colorful.

  9. Looks like the birds are fluffed up to keep warm in the trees. Great photos.

  11. Sweet birds; they probably fell out of the sky so they didn't end up in the blizzard's path. I have taken pictures of pretty trees from a supermarket lot and also of rainbows etc... and had people look at me as if I were nuts! (My philosophy is that the groceries will wait)!

  12. How lucky you were. It ended up being two feet and it's still out there. The birds were everywhere just like at your spot. I love it so when there are bunches in the tree at one time. Loved your pictures WITHOUT any snow in them. LOL

  13. I've got lots of house sparrows and cardinals in the backyard bush, but no goldfinches. They really want to have their little seeds, and I don't have anything to put up for them.

Storm is finally over, at last!

  14. Nice shots! That tree is like my Texas Sage bush that shelters hundreds of mostly sparrows and house finches in my yard. Sometimes the chatter is so loud you can hardly hear the TV! :-) I love it!

  15. Cute little finches! Thanks for sending the storm up to Virginia, but I wish it hadn't stayed so long!
