Question Mark Butterfly, October 10, 2015

I think this is a Question Mark Butterfly. It is easier to tell the Question Mark Butterfly from the Comma Butterfly by the pattern on the undersides of their wings, but this one photo is all I have.

  3. Hi Lea, that is a beautiful butterfly. I don't remember ever seeing one of these before. Your ducks are cute and the tree with the sunlight on the branches is such a pretty scene. Enjoyed them all. Have a great weekend :)

  4. Pickwick Lake sounds like a lovely old-fashioned sort of place. Dickensian even?

    1. It is a small town on the Tennessee River, and yes, it got its name from Dickens!
      Have a great week!

  8. such cute ducks. yes, question mark butterfly as it has a 'dashed line' mark above the circle on each upper wing portion whereas the comma does not have the dash mark. :)

  9. Hi Lea, I enjoyed your photos. I took a bunch of either a comma or question mark feeding next to a bunch of flies and wasps on some watermelon rind on my compost pile. I only got the outside of it, and still couldn't tell, because the white mark did not have a dot to complete the question mark. Whatever they are, it's cool to have them around.
