1. Tennessee River (Sky Watch Friday)
Shiloh, Tennessee, USA, December 31, 2019
New Year's Eve was such a pretty day that we decided to drive along the Tennessee River after lunch. The River is about an hour's drive from our house.

This is the "Lat Gonsoulin" owned by LeBeouf Brothers Towing of Houma, Louisiana (near New Orleans).

2. Root Beer (Signs 2)
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, December 15, 2019
Drink Hires Root Beer!

3. Amaryllis (Floral Friday Fotos)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, December 29, 2019
Two weeks ago I showed you one of my Amaryllis blooms - the bulb labeled "Amigo" red bloomed out white with pink stripes. Here is the other bulb blooming - "Ferrari" a gorgeous dark red!

4. Road Hazard (Saturday's Critters)
Colbert County, Alabama, USA, December 28, 2019
When we came over a hill and saw these cows, they were walking in the road. But as we cautiously approached, they moved over to the grass shoulder and stopped to watch us pass. They have better sense than some people; a lot of people just stay in the road and expect the cars to go around them!

5. Great Blue Heron (I'd Rather B Birdin')
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, December 15, 2019
… a long-legged wading bird, Great Blue Heron, Ardea herodias, up in a tree!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Happy New Year to you. Rivers and their traffic are fascinating, but just as enjoyable are all the old advertising signs you manage to find. Looking to enjoy 2020 with more of your photos.

  6. ...that barge is huge, there's nothing like that here.
...Hires has been around for years.
...our red amaryllis is now past bloom, I need to learn how to care for it now.
...cows out on the road can be a common sight here too.
...I think that our heron are now down in your neck of the woods.
Thanks Lea for stopping by, enjoy your weekend.

  7. I used to watch barges on the Mississippi, and sometimes the Tennessee River. They are enjoyable and usually stately. Maybe because they move slowly. Loved the flower and the cows. Last (and only) time I came upon a herd on a country road, they didn't have a shoulder to move onto, and so we followed them down the road until there was another option for them, and us!
