Pied-billed Grebes,
Podilymbus podiceps, are common across much of North America. Those that breed in Canada in the Summer migrate south in the cold weather months, but many birds stay in the same territory all year. (Bright sunlight caused the water in this small pond to appear yellowish to my camera).
Have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeletePied-billed Grebes are such neat little birds. I always enjoy encountering them in the wild. This is a nice picture of one. They generally dive just as I'm about to click!
ReplyDeleteI’ve never seen them. Thank you for sharing.
