1. Rain (Sky Watch Friday)
|
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, January 16, 2020 |
We have had so much rain that this small lake is already running over its banks, and there is more rain in the forecast this weekend. A few weeks ago the highway department put in a culvert to divert the overflow away from the road.
I am not sure what that pipe is, but with all this rain we can pretend it is a submarine's periscope! lol
2. Good Food!
|
Booneville, Mississippi, USA, January 13, 2020 |
Vegetarian Quesadilla at El Veracruz Mexican Restaurant.
3. Fresh Coffee (Signs 2)
|
Pontotoc, Mississippi, USA, January 16, 2020 |
Have you seen signs for these coffee makers at convenience store/gas stations? The top part of the coffee maker holds coffee beans. A touch screen lets you choose cup size, type of grind, and whether or not you want it to leave space for cream. It only takes an extra minute for it to grind the coffee beans before pouring the coffee into the cup. The idea of fresh ground coffee beans sounds good, but honestly, I could not tell a difference in the taste. I guess the biggest convenience here is that the store employees do not have to keep making fresh pots of coffee all day!
4. Sheep (Saturday's Critters)
|
Pontotoc County, Mississippi, USA, January 16, 2020 |
This large pasture was full of sheep, but this was the only one that would pose for a photo.
5. Grebe (I'd Rather B Birdin')
|
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, January 7, 2020 |
a Pied-billed Grebe,
Podilymbus podiceps, in its non-breeding plumage.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Haha I'm laughing at the submarine periscope...that's funny 🙂
ReplyDeleteWonderful variety of photos today.
ReplyDeleteI’d take that rain over these high winds and drifting today.
Nice collection of photos...laughing out loud at the submarine...but it's all to be possible! Have a good weekend, now we've got the cold returned and one day of sunshine before more rain comes through tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThat is a healthy looking quesadilla!
ReplyDeleteThat food looks delicious. Am ready for lunch...already 😀
ReplyDeleteCount on at least one critter in a herd to be curious about the photographer.
ReplyDeleteSorry about all the rain---what we are used to too. We had so much before the temps went down and we got snow. Bob got the tractor stuck in the mud in the back pasture because of all the rain AND we have a Beaver setting up home in the creek along the fenceline in the back pasture and they divert the runoff right into the pasture---Ugh! The rivers here are full n ow and when the snow melts we will have a few flooded roads.
ReplyDeleteBut we take one day at a time and muddle through.

Hoping that the rain stops for you, and you can post a sunny picture next week. I've never seen that kind of convenience store coffee maker - we don't have Circle K where I live, but it is a bit intriguing.
ReplyDeleteOh, man the quesadilla looks good!! LOL at the "periscope"!

I haven't seen one of those coffee machines. I tried grinding coffee at home for a while but the difference was not great.
ReplyDeleteGood food indeed! Love the curious sheep :)
