3. A New Bird Feeder
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, January 25, 2019 |
There are hooks on the lid for easy opening to fill with sunflower seed. (The mesh is too large for small seeds). There is a perch around the bottom edge, but many of the smaller birds cling to the metal mesh to pull the seeds through the holes.
And the metal mesh collapses for easy storage during the Summer months. We had to buy a new one last week because something (a raccoon?) tore up one of our older ones.

What near trees!
ReplyDeleteNice to see your blue skies and think, it isn't so cold you can't stand to be outside enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots - I especially like those blue skies.
ReplyDelete...a beautiful dappled blue sky.
ReplyDelete...you sure could turn a big bowl out of that burl.
...I need to try one of these.
...my mother always said if cows were laying down that it was going to rain.
...I'm no help here.
Thanks Lea for stopping by, enjoy your weekend.
...
Maybe Eileen will come along with an ID on your bird! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWow, that's quite a burl! Very cool bird feeder. I'll have to show it to my wife. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteHello, I like your new bird feeder too!
ReplyDeleteAnd of course the cows noticed you.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots---I like that bird feeder and the cows and the birds---

Love the black cattle with their white earrings on! I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHello, I love the black cows. The bird feeder is nice, I hope the squirrels stay away. I think you are right with the Pine Warbler id, not sure what other yellow birds could be in your area. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post today. Happy Saturday and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI was looking at a smaller burl in our forest the other day!
ReplyDeleteWe welcome the squirrels. What the heck. I gave up!
(ツ) from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!
Lovely shots of the pine warbler! The tree almost looks like a face. If there was a knob just beyond view on the other side, there would be two eyes and a very BIG nose! :-)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a tree with a big bulge like that before. Interesting
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the feeder. Last year I bought a model that was supposed to be squirrel proof. One day I looked out and a squirrel was inside it!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it IS pine warbler.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for joining us this weekend at I'd Rather B Birdin' and sharing your birding experiences!
Great mix of photos!
