Green Herons,
Butorides virescens, are small Herons that may be seen wading in shallow water in search of small fish. They often keep their long necks folded down close to their bodies, but when prey is spotted, they extend their necks and strike with lightening speed. They get their name from the greenish feathers on their back and crown.
Have a great day!
