Eastern Kingbird, August 8, 2018

ABC Wednesday, Wild Bird Wednesday, and Wednesday Around The World
E is for Eastern Kingbird

Lauderdale County, Alabama, USA, May 11, 2018
Eastern Kingbirds, Tyrannus tyrannus, are migratory birds whose breeding range covers most of North America. They spend the Winter months in South America. Members of the flycatcher family of birds, they eat insects and fruit. The white-tipped tail is a key to identification.

(Their cousins, the Western Kingbirds, Tyrannus verticalis, claim the western half of the United States as their breeding territory).

Have a wonderful day!
