Cows, June 28, 2018

Thankful Thursday and Little Things Thursday

Lee County, Mississippi, USA, June 26, 2018
Today I am thankful for shade trees! And my neighbor's cows are thankful, too! I was an adult before we had air conditioning, and I still remember when the best relief from the heat was a good shade tree. I have wonderful memories of those childhood days, but my goodness, the Summers were hot!

Today's high is predicted to be 96F (35C). At 8:20am, it is already 80F with 85% humidity.
And yes, today I am thankful for air conditioning!

Have a blessed day!

  2. This has always been one of my favorite summertime scenes - cows hunkering under whatever shade of random trees that they can find. I've always been fascinated by how many can gather in the shade of one tree at once!

  3. I so agree! I showed some big shade trees today and was thankful to be able to park under them. Makes me want to throw a quilt in the shade and read! Hugs!

  4. We have hot summers too. Maybe not as hot as you have but a good shade tree with a faint breeze is wonderful. We still don't have AC

  6. I love the photo! When I was a girl, we used to visit my dad's uncles in Iowa, who had cows. I used to go near the fence they were in, and sing to them. They would walk over to the fence toward me when I did that.

  8. Hi Lea, nice pic of the cattle under the tree. We all need to be in the shade right now. Our weather is pretty hot with the heat index 100 and expected to be higher tomorrow. Take care and stay cool.

  9. The cattle does know how to cool off! We didn't have air conditioning when I was growing up. The house could get sweltering. A shade tree, and a breeze, were always the best relief. Thanks for linking up today.
