Purple Coneflower 'Pow Wow Wild Berry'
Butterfly Milkweed Asclepias tuberosa
Hydrangea
White Bleeding Heart Vine, Clerodendrum thomsoniae, is hardy in USDA zones 8 - 11.
I grow it in a flower pot so I can take in indoors in the Winter here in zone 7.
Peace Lily - Also grown in a pot so it can go indoors in cold weather.
Day Lily
My Butterfly Bush, Buddleia, was slow to form buds but it is blooming steadily now.
The dwarf Butterfly Bush 'Soda Pop White' that I bought last year is just beginning to bloom.
My Japanese Magnolia has blooms in its topmost branches. I have heard this small tree referred to as Tulip Magnolia and Saucer Magnolia. I have had it so long, I have forgotten exactly what the plant tag said.
For foliage as pretty as a flower: Strobilanthes, an easy-to-grow annual for part sun / part shade.

ReplyDeleteYour blooms are gorgeous! It's such a wonderful time of the year to enjoy the beauty of the garden. Clerodendrum thomsoniae is sure a pretty thing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours in these plants and flowers!
ReplyDeleteWhite bleeding heart vine. So beautiful. We are not quite yet at daylily season but it will be here soon. I also grow purple shield and I love it so. It barely comes back after wintering in my home, but I had a bonus this year - an oxalis that did die back, but came back when I put the pot out after our last frost date. DeleteI've never seen Bleeding Heart Vine before--wow, that is gorgeous! Persian Shield is one of my favorite container foliage plants, too. Happy Bloom Day, Lea!
ReplyDeleteI love your butterfly bush. Mine died when a tree grew large and over-shadowed it. It has become a common theme in my garden. It is changing from a sun to a shade garden and I don't want to dig everything up and move it!
ReplyDeleteI also love all the other blooms. Thanks for sharing on GBBD.

I love my Persian Shield, which will have to be brought in tomorrow night as we may have a frost (more certain this time). I've never seen white bleeding heart vine (and it would't be hardy where I live in upstate New York); beautiful!
