Thankful Thursday, Little Things Thursday, and Signs, Signs

I am thankful for Camp Bluebird for Cancer Survivors!

Tishomingo County, Mississippi, USA, April 27, 2018

We stayed in cabins at the Fellowship Christian Retreat at Crow's Neck on Bay Springs Lake in northeast Mississippi. There were four cabins with about 30 people in each one. I forgot to get a photo of the conference center building itself.

The lake was just a few steps away.

The sign (in the lower left of the above photo) 'Peace Be Still' was just one of many inspirational signs at the Retreat Center.

We had great meals, and this snack table was available at all times. I especially enjoyed the fresh fruit. Those paper bags along the front edge of the table were filled with candy!

And yes, I built a Bluebird house! From a kit: seven pieces of wood, a dozen nails, and a screw (so that the top can be removed to clean out the old nests each year). I will nail it to a tree near our barn and hope the birds like it. I don't think they will mind that some of the nails are not perfectly straight in!

On Friday and Saturday nights there were campfire meetings. I especially like the metal fire ring: Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Have a blessed day!

  2. Thank you Lea for sharing your Camp Bluebird weekend with us. The water looks relaxing and glad you made a bluebird house. How high do you plan to nail it on the tree? I am wanting to start putting out bluebird nests.
