S is for Sandpipers - small shorebirds
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, April 21, 2018 |
They are not truly solitary, but are usually seen in pairs or small groups as opposed to the large flocks of other migrating shorebirds.
If someone can confirm my ID of these birds or suggest another ID, please let me know.
Have a wonderful day!

I just got back from a trip to Long Beach in the Pacific Rim National Park. There were lots of shore birds finding tidbits in the sand. Mixed in were some sandpipers. There had been a flotilla of Velellas stranded all along the shore. Quite an amazing sight. - Margy
