Tree Following is a fun meme! Just choose a tree and photograph it once a month to follow the changing seasons of the year.
Lee County, Mississippi, USA, May 5, 2018 |
Red stems on the young 'maple-shaped' leaves was the deciding factor in identifying it, though it gets its name from the red color of its leaves in the Autumn. And doesn't the bark look interesting! A deciduous tree, Red Maple is native to the eastern half of the United States and southeastern Canada.

ReplyDeleteHappy Monday
much love...
The maple leaves always have been one of my favorites, because they remind me on half a star. A great tribute to the child that was killed in the car accident. Love the texture of the bark and thank you for sharing these interesting details with All Seasons! Wish you enjoyment of this spring week!
ReplyDeleteThat is a good meme! You picked a good tree to feature.
ReplyDeleteYour middle shot is especially nice
ReplyDeleteI like that the tree was planted as a memorial for the child. That's love growing right before your eyes. :-)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet that the tree was planted in memory of the child, and that it is doing well.
ReplyDeletePretty leaves with the green and red colour combination.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice - I particularly like the red stems and the water droplets on the leaf, and the bark looks characterful - I suppose the green is lichen?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your tree with us :)
I love seeing dewdrops or raindrops on leaves, flowers etc. So refreshing.
