1. Shiloh (Sky Watch Friday)
|
Shiloh, Tennessee, USA, May 7, 2018 |
We have had beautiful skies this week. On Monday we went to Shiloh National Military Park to check on the Eagles that are nesting there. The area around the nest tree was barricaded, off limits to visitors. The park rangers told us that one of the baby Eagles tried to fly too soon and is now on the ground. It appears to be unhurt, and its parents are feeding it. They said they expect it to be able to fly in a couple of weeks.
2. Blue Suede Cruise
|
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, May 4, 2018 |
Last Friday we went to the Blue Suede Cruise Car Show in Tupelo.

It was a fun day!
3. Favorite Photo of the Week (I'd Rather B Birdin')
|
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, May 7, 2018 |
It looks like this Northern Mockingbird is singing, but actually it is scolding me for being too close to its nest!
4. Chipmunk (Saturday's Critters)
|
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, May 7, 2018 |
I was very surprised to see a Chipmunk scurrying across the sidewalk at the Pickwick Inn Restaurant!
5. Clematis (Floral Friday Fotos)
|
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, May 6, 2018 |
Clematis vines get their name from a Greek word meaning 'a climbing vine.' They originated in China, but may be found worldwide now. I have long forgotten the names of the ones I have.

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, May 6, 2018 |
They grow best on a trellis in full sun, but are adaptable to partly shady areas.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

...classic car and nature, what a fabulous combination! It's hard to tell you what I like best. Thanks Lea for stopping by, enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteBetween the antique cars and the flowers, my day is made. (At least, it's finally green in upstate New York, too.)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. I especially loved the antique cars.
ReplyDeleteIt is so good that the baby eagle has people looking out for it! Love the flower pics and of course the chippie!
ReplyDeleteLove the wildlife photos! And the old cars! Fun!
ReplyDeleteAwesome vintage cars! Loved the bird, flower and other shots!
ReplyDeleteLove the car show captures, and beautiful sky shot! Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteWonderful selection of photos. The park sounds lovely and I'm glad the Eagle parents are feeding the baby that fell out of the nest. - Car shows are always fun, so many cool cars. The Clematis are very pretty, I have (or had 2) but sadly I believe my dark purple one died this past winter. Nice bird shot & such a cute chipmunk.
ReplyDeleteI can see myself driving that with with purple trim car. I would want to wear pearls and purple leather gloves. :-) I'm glad that the rangers closed up the park for the eagles. Good people. Cheers to you!

Beautiful images. The purple clematis photo made me smile. They used to grow on the backyard fence when I was a child. Such pretty flowers. Cute little chipmunk. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at old cars, and I am always amazed at the work people put into them. My favorite is the one with the flames!!
ReplyDeleteAnd who doesn't like clematis? So delicate!
I've not only been scolded...I've been dive-bombed by mocking birds! For sharing this special post with us birders this week at I'd Rather B Birdin', I thank you!
