1. Bay Springs Lake (Sky Watch Friday, I'd Rather B Birdin')

We saw a large mixed flock of American Coots and Ringed-necked Ducks. They are migratory birds that we see here only in the Winter,
The grayish birds with black heads are American Coots; the dark birds with white breasts and sides are Ring-necked Ducks.

...I'm having a pole barn built and the windows and door were installed and the metal siding was then installed around them.
ReplyDeleteHo HO Ho santa is coming soon
ReplyDeleteHello, I love seeing the big group of ducks. Pretty berries and lovely rosebud. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have seen this before....but, just maybe it was unplanned, and the windows were delivered early...that's my way of trying to be funny.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting until December before thinking of Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI've not seen a building built like that where I live in Upstate New York but perhaps it has something to do with our weather. That rose looks like an old fashioned rose (a cabbage rose?) but I am no rose expert. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! That building really is unusual.
ReplyDeleteI like how you placed the group shots together: birds, leaves, and berries.
ReplyDeleteVery nice selection of photos. Enjoyed seeing the coots.
ReplyDeleteTo see so many ringed neck ducks in one group like this...lucky you!
ReplyDeleteAgain, your taking oart with linking up is appreciated.
These are such lovely photos. I have also noticed that roses put out buds and bloom when it's absolutely freezing! No wonder there are so many rose fans out there -- it's indeed an amazing plant. The American Coots have really wonderful color around their eyes and it stands out on those black heads. I think it's a Holly based on the leaf shape as my holly plants also have the same leaf and berries. I think that's the latest design -- no walls but doors and windows :-). I hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
