Willy Nilly Friday 5 and Sky Watch Friday

1. Pickwick Lake (Sky Watch Friday)
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, November 6, 2017
We have had heavy fog that lasts into the afternoon several days this week. This is the view of Pickwick Lake when we were there on Monday eating lunch with friends at the Pickwick Inn Restaurant.

2. Autumn Color
Colbert County, Alabama, USA, November 3, 2017
Cloudy days did not interfere with our enjoyment of the colorful leaves last week.

3. The Most Unusual Thing This Week
Booneville, Mississippi, USA, November 8, 2017
Did you notice the radio dial? 91.9 WOWL and 95.3 WADI are local radio stations.

4. Wildlife
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, November 9, 2017
I noticed movement at the edge of a small lake, zoomed in, and discovered this female Mallard Duck, Anas platyrhynchos, in the shadows.

5. Veterans Day is November 11
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, November 9, 2017
This replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall (Washington, DC) was dedicated at Veterans Park in Tupelo last Saturday. The names of every American soldier killed in the war are written on the Wall. It is 60% the size of the original.

Have a wonderful week-end!

    1. Wind and rain has knocked a lot of the Autumn color off our trees

  2. It finally feels like fall here -- better late than never, but we don't have the beautiful color -- everything just stays green! Love to see your fall color. I've always thought that fog was mystical (as long as you don't have to drive in it). Wonderful images. Happy Friday!

  4. How wonderful that they are dedicating the replica wall! We've been to the original twice and to the moving wall once. It's always very emotional or my husband. I am glad there is a permanent replica there in Tupelo.

  10. Nice fall color; amazing that you and we in upstate New York are having color at about the same time. Thank you for the shoutout to our vets; freedom is indeed not free.

  15. I love fog, it is so rare around here it is a novelty. I swear that one day I will visit North America and see an autumn forest in all its colour. The photos are always gorgeous.

Thank you so much for sharing these lovely photos.
