We have had heavy fog that lasts into the afternoon several days this week. This is the view of Pickwick Lake when we were there on Monday eating lunch with friends at the Pickwick Inn Restaurant.

I noticed movement at the edge of a small lake, zoomed in, and discovered this female Mallard Duck,
Anas platyrhynchos, in the shadows.
5. Veterans Day is November 11

This replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall (Washington, DC) was dedicated at Veterans Park in Tupelo last Saturday. The names of every American soldier killed in the war are written on the Wall. It is 60% the size of the original.

ReplyDeleteIt finally feels like fall here -- better late than never, but we don't have the beautiful color -- everything just stays green! Love to see your fall color. I've always thought that fog was mystical (as long as you don't have to drive in it). Wonderful images. Happy Friday!

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that they are dedicating the replica wall! We've been to the original twice and to the moving wall once. It's always very emotional or my husband. I am glad there is a permanent replica there in Tupelo.

ReplyDeleteI love fog, it is so rare around here it is a novelty. I swear that one day I will visit North America and see an autumn forest in all its colour. The photos are always gorgeous.
