Then the second one advanced and the first one retreated.
One turned away for a minute, and I thought he was leaving.
Then he turned and advanced towards to other bird again.
I wondered if it was a territorial dispute with a younger male challenging an older one.

ReplyDeleteIt's a strange time year for birds to be fighting. But some species do have winter territories.

ReplyDeleteFascinating! They seem like such smart birds. I remember hearing and seeing them a lot when I was living with my parents in Florida for a few weeks.
