Great Blue Herons,
Ardea Herodias, are the largest North American Heron. They can be seen all across the continent near any body of water large enough for fish, their primary food. Great Blue Herons have good night vision enabling them to hunt day or night.

ReplyDeleteLove Great Blue Herons especially how they have this wonderful almost prehistoric sound. Forget sometimes how large they really are. Your photos highlight that wonderfully.
