1. Tennessee River (Sky Watch Friday)
Colbert County, Alabama, USA, October 31, 2017 |
We saw some Autumn color along the way, but it is not at its best yet.
2. Elvis Presley's Birthplace and Museum
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, October 26, 2017 |
A wall behind the sculpture explains the start of his musical career. Below are close-up photos that I hope are large enough to be read.

And the Larger Than Life Elvis sculpture is there, too.
3. Food
Colbert County, Alabama, USA, October 31, 2017 |
I found these persimmons high up in the tree, so I left them there. Probably best that I could not reach them; they don't look ripe enough yet.
4. Best Photo of the Week (I'd Rather B Birdin')
Colbert County, Alabama, USA, October 31, 2017 |
Canon PowerShot SX520 HS, 1/160 sec., f 5.6, ISO 125, 10/31/2017 1:30pm.
5. Carolina Jessamine (Floral Friday Fotos)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, November 2, 2017 |
And a few have opened. Carolina Jessamine is hardy is USDA zones 7 - 9. Unless we have unusually cold temperatures this Winter, it will continue blooming for several months.
Have a wonderful week-end!

...your heron picture is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a persimmon tree in a long while. Love that heron photo too. It knew it needed to pose for you!
ReplyDeleteThe bridge is pretty appealing.
ReplyDeleteWorth a Thousand Words
Beautiful photos from Elvis, to birds and persimmons.
ReplyDeleteYears ago must have been in the 19th we drove through Tuppelo but at that time I didn't see any statue only the little house.
ReplyDeleteWonderful series of photos ~ all very beautiful ~ ^_^

All beautiful but I especially love the heron photo. I'm visiting from the link ups at Willy Nilly Friday 5 :)
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is a striking composition - nicely done! It was also clever to show us all the 'young' Elvis photos and then the 'larger than life' shot - as if he was growing up before our eyes. I don't think I have ever seen a persimmon tree - delighted to glimpse one through your camera!
ReplyDeleteI love that Tennessee River shot! Beautiful shot and nicely composed.
ReplyDeleteI love your river and bridge pic!
ReplyDeleteNice shots - I especially love that wide river and narrow bridge.
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived on rural land in Northwest Arkansas, we had several wild persimmon trees. I remember almost as much pit as fruit! I wish we could grow Carolina Jessamine here in upstate New York - it is at the end of its blooming season when we visit the Carolinas nearly every March - I love it so.
ReplyDeleteI love Elvis so it was neat to read about him as a child. What a great gift. - The Jasmine blossoms are so pretty. I don't think I've ever tried a Persimmon. Great shot of the bridge & the Heron.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos but I especially love the fall foliage photo and the great blue Heron, wow.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to read this all the way through! Thanks!
