4. Wildlife
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, November 13, 2017
Harvestmen, Opiliones, look like spiders but they are not spiders. They do not weave webs, and are not poisonous. They are called Harvestmen because they are most often seen during the Autumn harvest season.

5. Thanksgiving Cactus (Floral Friday Fotos)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, November 16, 2017
Schlumbergera truncate is commonly called Thanksgiving Cactus in the United States because it blooms in November near the time of our Thanksgiving Day (November 23 this year). They are natives of Brazil and are most often grown as houseplants here.

I hope you have a wonderful week-end!

  7. I saw many Amish buggies during our time in Northeastern Ohio, but never with fishing poles!!! Excellent captures! And the harvestmen is also a first for me - how curious!

  8. Fascinating group of photos! The Viet Nam memorial was wonderful! Loved the shot of the Rattlesnake Saloon (I had heard of this restaurant and would love to go some time!) and I loved the fisherman and the sad old horse. Great post.

  9. it's quite amazing how long that war lasted, ironically for the Vietnamese they considered a future war with China (caused by a disagreement with siding with new leadership in the Soviet Union) to be a greater war for them.
