Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, August 20, 2021 |
After we crossed the river, I turned to face directly into the sun to get this photo for The Weekend in Black and White.
After a few minutes the boat was near where I was standing. It was the 'Roger L Knight' owned by Tennessee Valley Towing. If you look across the river, you can see the rocky shore near the dam where I made the first photo. The red balls in the sky are attached to the electric power lines to make the lines more visible to airplanes.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Nice black and white capture. Every time I see a good B&W picture I wonder why I don't experiment with it. I didn't know about the red balls so learned something today. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice of black and white for a shot.
ReplyDeleteGood shots, Lea! That barge is so long!
ReplyDeleteActually that is 14 barges all hooked together
DeleteI guess there must be a lock at the dam for the barge and boat to be going toward it. I wonder if riverboat life is any fun.
ReplyDeleteinfrastructure, barges, and skies!! Love this.
ReplyDelete...it's neat to see the river barge, something that isn't seen here.
ReplyDeleteLove your black and white photo!

Greetings and Salutations! Thank you for clearing up why the red balls are on lines. My husband and I have been wondering why? We can always learn something. If we are not learning something everyday it is a wasted day.
ReplyDeleteThat's so beautiful! Nicely photographed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful day
