I saw these Mallard Ducks in a quiet spot at Pickwick Lake. I thought they were asleep, but when I enlarged the photo I could see an open eye. I checked several birding sites and discovered that Ducks can sleep with one eye open to watch for predators!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteCute ducks, the one has his eye on you. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care and stay well. Have a great day happy weekend.
Thank goodness we don't have to sleep in such an alert state. Some nights I have a hard time sleeping peacefully!
ReplyDeleteHow funny! Love the photos and it's neat to see something like that when you look at your pics!
ReplyDeleteYou wonder how relaxing it would be to always be on the alert.
ReplyDeleteBunny "in cat face" (hope this works)

I love a surprise in a photo!
ReplyDelete...they look like they are huddled together to stay warm!
ReplyDeleteLove this image. So natural and comforting.
ReplyDeleteI thank you for your participation at I'd Rather B Birdin this week as always.
Oh that's really neat, I didn't know that. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteEven my pet parakeet (had them as pets when I was younger) could sleep that way. Would open one eye if I came by, saw it was me, close it, stay asleep.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that! Cool photo!
ReplyDeleteNice shot with the sleepy ducks
