1. Rain (Sky Watch Friday)
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, October 29, 2020
We have had 4 inches (10cm) of rain this week. As we get more sunshine this weekend, temperatures are expected to drop to near freezing.

2. Fishing (The Weekend in Black and White)
Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, October 29, 2020
Bright sunlight sparkling on the water gave me the idea to change this photo to black and white.

3. Hibiscus (Floral Friday Fotos)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 25, 2020
My Hibiscus mutabilis 'Confederate Rose' is late blooming this year. Thankfully, it is growing underneath the trees so it has some protection from colder weather. But it will soon be dormant until Spring.

4. Dogs (Saturday's Critters)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 26, 2020
A matching set!

5. Eastern Bluebirds (I'd Rather B Birdin')
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, October 19, 2020
Bluebird houses have greatly improved the Eastern Bluebirds chances of survival. The entrance hole is small so that larger birds cannot get in, and no perch is needed for the Bluebirds. I built this one from a kit.

Have a wonderful day!

    1. As for telling the dogs apart, you've probably heard the joke about the little boy watching his dad examine a litter of puppies. The dad picked up each one, turned it over, and said 'a boy' or 'a girl.' The little boy told his young friend, "My dad can tell boys from girls by looking at the bottom of their feet!"

  2. We had a lot of much needed rain yesterday, and I enjoyed both your rain on the water picture and the fisherman (you are right, B&W hit just the right note with that one). Your Confederate Rose is so pretty.

  4. It must be really rewarding to have a bluebird hanging around (nesting?) a house you built yourself!

  6. We didn’t get much rain this summer, not good for the farmers for sure. The blue bird is so pretty. A new one for me. The dogs look alert, as if ready for a bark.

    Take care.

  7. I love those dogs. How does anyone get 4inches of rain in one day. We have had almost 4 inches in this whole month.
    Good to be back.

  12. Four inches is quite a bit of rain. I don't even try to encourage bluebirds to nest anymore, because of the English sparrows. I've tried every box that is supposed to be sparrow proof and they aren't. Two years ago a pair of bluebirds nested in the red-bellied woodpecker box and they all survived, but that was a lucky exception. Glad you don't have that trouble there. Lovely photos.
