They are migratory birds, spending the winter in Mexico and the southern parts of the United States before flying northward to breed on inland lakes as far north as central Canada.

ReplyDelete...nice to see.
ReplyDeleteI recently saw white pelicans for the first time. Being close to the beach, I was more familiar with the brown ones. But, aren't they just such beautiful birds!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots!
ReplyDeleteI know they leave here in the fall...but, you never really know how far south they fly.... imagine going all the way to Mexico... who can believe it?
ReplyDeleteI'm in Canada and they should be home soon if they are not already here ....I hope to get a pic of them this summer.... never get close enough to where they are on the water to manage it.
Aren't their beaks big! We saw them often on the coast line when still living in southern California. I think I'm missing your linkup for All Seasons ...hope to see you there before 7pm (Wed.)tonight at 7 pm!
ReplyDeletean odd-shaped bird, but they look nice here
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos for P ~love the Pelicans ~
