I thought to use a tree in my own backyard, but yesterday was a such wonderfully sunny day that I went to the park, and there I found my tree for this year.
Lee County, Mississippi, USA, March 6, 2018 |
Did you notice the bird's nest? Perhaps the birds that built it last year will return to raise another family there. How exciting that would be!
And there are many more possibilities: stormy weather, photos of raindrops on the leaves, fully leafed out in mid-summer, wildflowers growing around it, colorful Autumn leaves, maybe snow in December!
Now for the more difficult part - identifying it. The bud looks like a Maple to me, but I think we will have to wait until it leafs out to be sure.
Have a wonderful day!

That's a nice idea but I don't know what tree to follow here around, they are pine trees and always green !
ReplyDeleteOh but their very greenness when other trees are bare is a blogpost in itself! Then there is their interesting rough bark (how big around is the tree you select?), their cones, pollen - do you have allergies, their scent, their uses as decorations. That is six post ideas right there! You are an artist - you could paint us a picture.
DeleteThink about it! Look with an artist's eye!
Hope you will join in Tree Following - its fun!
What a great idea for a meme!
ReplyDelete...new life.
ReplyDeleteNice one - although that nest looks a little precarious!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for joining us - I look forward to finding out what your tree turns out to be.
All the best :)
Looking forward to finding out what tree it is. And hoping that some birds will make a home in that nest.
ReplyDeleteHi Lea, thanks for joining us! That's a beautiful flower shot. I look forward to learning what kind of tree it is, as I've been trying to improve my winter tree id skills (long ways to go yet)
