Willy Nilly Friday 5, Sky Watch Friday, and Floral Friday Fotos

1. Sunny But Cold (Sky Watch Friday)
Guntown, Mississippi, USA, March 13, 2018
We have had clear skies with cool temperatures. There was frost several mornings mid-week.

2. Dangerous Driver
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, March 9, 2018
We were driving behind this tractor with its load of hay when...

...the driver turned suddenly without giving any kind of signal!

3. Red Buckeye
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, March 15, 2018
When the Buckeyes begin to bud, it is time to hang up the Hummingbird feeders. Last year the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds arrived at our house on March 24th.

4. Wildlife: Wild Turkeys
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, March 11, 2018
The tom turkeys are strutting around with their chests puffed out, displaying their tail feathers.

.
But the girls are ignoring them, playing hard to get!

5. Wildflowers (Floral Friday Fotos)
Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, March 13, 2018
These Wild Violets are native to eastern North America, and are considered a weed in many places because their aggressive invasion may kill other plants.

Have a wonderful day!

  1. ...talk about diving blind! I rarely see a turkey with its tail feathers fanned out, neat.

  2. We would always pick violets for Mother's Day so I love to see them. Those turkeys are great!

  3. Loved seeing the violets. One of my favorites. I would find them in sunny spots in the woods and transplant them to my garden. The turkeys are quite magnificent too.

  5. Wild violets - aren't invasive here in upstate New York (that I know of) but it is going to be a while before we see the ground. I love your wild turkey photos.

  7. Beautiful images, Lea! I love the way the Buckeyes unfurl, and it' so exciting to think about the hummingbirds returning! I don't usually see them in my garden until early May, but I'm happy to hear of their progress to the south. :)
