Gladiola Bulbs, March 1, 2018

Thankful Thursday and Little Things Thursday

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, February 28, 2018
I am thankful that I bought this large box of Gladiola bulbs. Just looking at the package photo cheers me up on these rainy days! As soon as we get a sunny day, I need to get started planting them. A hundred bulbs is going to take awhile!

Have a blessed day!

  2. Looks like you have a lot of bulbs to plant. I love Glads. Haven’t had any in years. Hmm, your post is making me want to plant some. Thanks for the inspiration Lea.

  3. ...are you mild enough to be able to leave them in the ground over winter?

    1. Yes, the weather is mild enough to leave the bulbs in the ground. However, with as much rain as we have had this winter they may get so wet that they rot. Another problem we have is Voles eating the bulbs. That is what happened to my Tulips. The little so-and-sos seem to be particularly fond of Tulip bulbs!

  7. That is a hefty collection of bulbs! I love glads! I used to grow them regularly, but during the past couple of years, they haven't liked my garden as well. I think I need to find a different, sunnier spot. They're such great cut flowers, too!

  8. I haven't planted any gladiolus yet, because it needs refrigeration here to force flowering, but i love their flowers. It is however associated here for All Saints'Day because it becomes a tradition already in the past.
