Great Egret, October 11, 2017

Wild Bird Wednesday, Wednesday Around The World, and I'd Rather B Birdin'

Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, October 6, 2017
Great Egrets, Ardea alba, wade in shallow water looking for small fish, their primary food source. They also eat small aquatic animals (such as crayfish) and insects.

When prey is spotted, they strike lightening fast!

Success!

And down it goes!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

  5. Lovely sequence Lea ... you caught it all.... hunting, catching, eating. I think you must be as patient as the egret. Really good.
