...one of fall's delights.
ReplyDeleteThe bright magenta color is so gorgeous! Birds pick mine so quickly they don't last until winter.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it is a wonderful shrub! I was thinking it was native to parts of Illinois, too, but now re-checking sources, it looks like the native range is further south. Many garden bloggers grow it. The Arboretum here in Madison has a few, but of course the shrub goes dormant back to the soil line during our tough winters. I planted some hardier cultivars this spring. Hopefully, they'll survive and thrive. :)
ReplyDeleteThose Beauty Berries are such a striking colour. Don't grow this far north though.
ReplyDeleteMine is thriving in deep shade with almost no water. I love it.

One of my favorite berry plants! I lost a branch on one of our shrubs when Irma passed through. It showed me that these berries also look great in cut flower arrangements.
ReplyDeleteHello, the beautyberry is pretty. I love the color. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day and weekend ahead.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous berry...almost seems artificial as how could any berry be so colorful. Love it!
